9- February Meeting:  9:30 AM at The Clubhouse, 699 W. Center (across from Smart & Final) for brunch followed by a morning with local artist Jana Botkin of Three Rivers as she shared a powerpoint presentation of her artwork. Jana’s detailed, realistic drawings capture the essence of rural Tulare County – including Mineral King, Sequoia National Park, local landmarks and agricultural scenery. For many of us, Jana’s most familiar creations are likely her pencil sketches of the Mineral King cabins. A sampling of her art, including pencil sketches and oil painting, will be on display. In 2007, she was selected to create an ornament for the White House Christmas tree, which depicts a snowy scene of Sequoia Park redwoods.

January  2008

26 - January Meeting: EF Grant Recipient Laura Allen will tell about her project that encourages girls to study science. Lunch at Fugazzi Restaurant 127 W. Main St.
